Rostering & Templates

Keep pinned unassigned shifts visible when searching for employees

Management > Rostering > Roster Manager

Pinned unassigned shifts now stay visible when you search for an employee by name or code in People view, so you can find the person and drag an unassigned shift straight onto them.

Keep employees with back-to-back shifts available in Fill Shift

Management > Rostering > Roster Manager / Template Manager

The "With overlapping rosters" filter in Fill Shift no longer hides employees whose existing shift finishes exactly when the open shift starts, or starts exactly when it ends, so staff with back-to-back shifts remain available to be assigned.

More accurate availability indicators in Fill Shift

Management > Rostering > Roster Manager / Template Manager

Fill Shift now gives you a clearer view of employee availability, helping you make assignment decisions with greater confidence:

  • Shows a mixed status for overnight shifts where availability differs across the two days.
  • Recognises an unavailable period that falls within a shift, even when the shift starts before it and ends after it.
  • Does not flag a conflict when a shift starts immediately after an unavailable period ends or finishes immediately before one begins.
  • Ignores separate unavailability that does not overlap the shift being filled.

Save templates when mandatory qualifications are missing

Management > Rostering > Template Manager

Users with the "Override mandatory qualification requirements" permission can now save templates when employees are missing mandatory role or location/department qualifications. These are shown as warnings rather than blocking errors, so template preparation is not held up for managers who have been granted this permission.

Timesheets

Bulk editing follows shift type hierarchy rules

Management > Timesheets > Timesheets

Bulk editing timesheets now follows shift type hierarchy rules in the same way as editing an individual timesheet, so leave hours are deducted from the correct shift types when balances are limited.

Payroll & Integrations

Filter pay run alerts more efficiently

Management > Timesheets > Payroll

The pay run screen now gives you more control over employee filtering, making it easier to focus on the employees and alerts that need attention:

  • Hide employees with no timesheets to reduce noise from "Employee has no timesheets" alerts.
  • Continue filtering by "Log Message" while hiding employees with no timesheets, giving you two layers of filtering.
  • Clear all table filters in one action while keeping "Hide employees with no timesheets" selected.
  • Keep your filter selections throughout your session, including when you close and reopen the filter window or move between pay runs.

Choose how many records to show on each pay run page

Management > Timesheets > Payroll

You can now select how many records to show on each page of the pay run screen, up to 200, making it easier to review large pay runs without navigating through multiple pages.

Show more timesheets for each employee in a pay run

Management > Timesheets > Payroll

The timesheets section for each employee on the pay run screen now shows up to 50 timesheets before paging, with tighter column spacing so more detail fits on screen and horizontal scrolling is reduced.

Sort employee timesheets by default

Management > Timesheets > Payroll

Timesheets shown for an employee on the pay run screen are now sorted by date and pay start time in ascending order by default, so you no longer need to sort them manually each time you review a pay run.

Customise pay run screen and report settings

Management > Timesheets > Payroll

A new "Payroll Screen & Report Settings" window lets you customise the pay run screen and reports to suit your workflow. You can choose which pay type columns appear, reorder them by dragging, hide unused or non-exported pay types, switch column headings between pay type names and export codes, and choose whether to exclude data for non-exporting employees. Your settings are remembered, and "Reset to default" restores the standard layout.

Preserve pay rates in Chris21 leave exports when Consolidate Leave is enabled

Management > Timesheets > Payroll

When "Consolidate Leave" is enabled, Chris21 exports now preserve the correct pay rate for each leave entry, so consecutive leave at different rates is paid accurately, including for employees who work across multiple roles.

Keep finalised pay runs aligned with the standard process

Management > Timesheets > Payroll

Finalised pay runs now follow a consistent process on the pay run screen, helping you keep pay results aligned with the timesheets included in the run:

  • Inline editing and "Manual Interpretation" are disabled after finalisation. If changes are needed, reverse the pay run finalisation before making them.
  • New timesheets cannot be added after finalisation, helping ensure they are reviewed and included before the pay run is completed. If a timesheet was missed, reverse the finalisation before adding it.

These controls help keep pay results, exports and reports aligned with the timesheets in the run.
